With its success and the opportunity in February 2009, Peekabooquet n. cupcake evolved into a baby boutique in Chester, CT. We continued to create our signature USA made bouquets which was started in Deep River, 2008. With our colorful, unique clothing lines, European and USA made, our boutique was called magical, whimsical and enchanting. My customers were from all over the world. My bouquets have been send to Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, local anchors and neices and nephews from loving aunts and uncles.
So much has changed since opening my doors 4 years ago. Precious, unique lines I once carried no longer exist. Quality USA manufacturers have closed their doors. Others have chosen to sell their lines in many of the web stores that offer substantial discounts or now have oversea production which has changed the quality of their products. I have been sticker shocked with the price increases at the wholesale level and with my commitment to carrying quality products at reasonable prices in this economic climate, it became impossible to maintain my standard of business. I have decided not to renew my lease April 1.
I am, however, continuing my on-line business with my baby outfit bouquets – made on American soil – with American hands – containing American cotton – and accented with American made pacifiers. I plan to include my unique best sellers and twin outfits.
I treasure your sharing joyful news, pictures that couldn’t wait to be shown and trusting me with stories that made me laugh and cry. From my heart, I thank you all for your loyalty, I have been Blessed. Kylie, who gave me true inspiration when she was born to start Peekabooquet n. cupcake, is beginning her own journey as she starts kindergarten in the fall. This summer with her will be extra special.
